The international break is finally over and while we all look forward to the commencement of the EPL, many fans are left wondering what will happen in the game week in a game as unpredictable as football. Here are my predictions for gameweek 5.

Everton vs Liverpool

The Merseyside derby is taking place at Goodison park and although, in the past few years the derby has looked less intense, this game is one to look forward to.

Everton are the only team to still have a 100% EPL record this season and they will be looking to continue with this performance they have put forward so far. The Toffees seem to have found a perfect formation, team and rhythm that works and will be looking to take points off the Reds.

Liverpool had a really abysmal outing against Aston villa as they got mauled 7-2 in the club’s most ridiculous defeat in recent times. Although the EPL Champions were without star players like Goalkeeper Alisson and Winger, Mane, the team was overrun by a brilliant Villa side that took advantage of Liverpool’s weak defence and collapsing midfield. The Reds will be looking to put that weekend behind them and return to winning ways and challenge for 3 points.

The Merseyside derby is known for how hard breaking the tie can be but Everton haven’t beaten Liverpool in 10 years and Carlo Ancelotti will hope to outsmart Jurgen Klopp’s pressing and crossing tactics which he could do. Two hungry teams, a tough match is predicted but Jurgen’s men should be able to take at least 1 point.
